Terms of Service
The plain-English rules for using PickupWave.
Last updated October 14, 2026. Questions: hello@pickupwave.com.
1. The service
PickupWave sets up and operates an AI receptionist that answers calls and website conversations for your business, using information you provide. Features depend on your plan, as described on our pricing page, and on what your phone and booking systems support.
2. Free trial and guarantee
New clients get a 14-day free trial. Nothing is charged at signup or during the trial. Cancel anytime during your 14-day trial and pay $0: no setup fee and no monthly charge.
3. Billing
If you don’t cancel during the trial, the one-time setup fee and your first monthly payment are charged when the trial ends, and your plan then renews monthly until cancelled. Founding Client terms (40% off setup, price locked for 12 months) apply only to clients accepted into that offer.
4. Cancellation
Plans are month-to-month with no long-term contract. You can cancel anytime by emailing hello@pickupwave.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we don’t refund partial months unless required by law.
5. Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information about your business, and tell us when it changes
- Use the service lawfully, including laws on call recording, consent, telemarketing and privacy that apply to your business and callers
- Review summaries and follow up with your callers
- Don’t use the service for emergency response, unlawful or deceptive purposes, or to collect information you’re not allowed to collect
6. AI limitations
The receptionist is automated and can make mistakes, mishear callers or fail to connect. It does not give professional (legal, medical, financial or other) advice, and it is not a substitute for emergency services.
7. Third-party services
The service relies on third-party providers, whose outages may affect it.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, the service is provided “as is”. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or missed business.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here and, for material changes, tell active clients by email.
